This extremely relaxing Caribbean island is said to be one of a kind. Anything you would look for in a beach vacation can be found on this beautiful island! You are sure to find a villa that fits your taste and preferences.
INTRODUCTION
Anguilla is a low-lying slither of coral at the very top of the Leeward chain, a string of islands arranged in a crescent that plug the gap between Puerto Rico in the north and Venezuela in the south. Its nearest neighbour is busy Saint Martin, just 10 miles away which bustles with crowds and noisy cruise ships, a stark contrast to the splendid isolation afforded by laid back Anguilla. Long a buzzword amongst the cognoscenti, the easy-going nature of its population and the comfort afforded by our luxury villas In Anguilla will have you feeling immediately at home. You won’t find a warmer welcome anywhere.
A self-governing overseas territory of the UK, it was first colonised by English settlers from St. Kitts halfway through the 17th century. Although the island briefly came under French rule there is no lasting legacy of this. For a short time at the beginning of the 1970’s, London’s Metropolitan Police were lucky enough to have to patrol the island until Anguilla developed its own police force!
At 16 miles long and 3 miles across at its widest point, Anguilla is not the place for getting lost in the wildernesses. The majority of the land is dry and quite arid, but there are some stunning green pockets and you can expect some of the most jaw-dropping beaches in the whole of the Caribbean. From the broad white pristine sweep of Rendezvous Bay to the dramatic green rocky cliffs of Little Bay, one quickly runs out of superlatives. Shoal Bay East is rightly considered one of the best beaches in the world. You can be sure that you are never far from a beach in one of our luxury villas In Anguilla.
Naturally, there are myriad water-based activities including world-class diving and snorkelling and with little in the way of culture to distract you from pure relaxation, there is no need to feel guilty about not visiting that museum or gallery! In fact Anguilla provides the perfect opportunity to finally fulfil that promise of switching off the Blackberry and getting lost in a novel, writing, painting or simply sampling the freshest seafood imaginable. Just save enough energy for those reggae beats on the beach before heading back to one of our luxury Anguilla holiday villas later in the evening.

On most Caribbean Islands, gratuities have become a tradition and are expected. Anguilla is a little different than the majority of these islands in that tipping is not required. But like the locals on its Caribbean sisters, the income of many of Anguilla's local people is supplemented by the generosity of others. Tipping cab drivers is very common, and the standard amount is usually around 10 percent of the total cab fare.
Drive on the left. Average speed, 30 mph. 20 mph in villages and school areas.
Anguilla's average temperature is around 80 degrees Fahrenheit. Humidity is usually just over 70%. The Trade winds provide a constant breeze. The temperature of the water that laps the sandy beaches rarely drops below 77 degrees Fahrenheit.
Style is fairly casual throughout Anguilla, though if dining out in the evening smart dress is normal (no jackets or ties however). Cotton and other light fabrics are comfortable choices year round. You are advised to take lightweight light coloured items, including a sun hat to protect your skin from the affects of sun damage.
