About Lerins Retreat
The sole private property on the island of Ste Marguerite, the fully staffed and fully catered Lerins Retreat is just 15 minutes from Cannes by boat. This historical walled estate, once a palace of Louis XIV, was lovingly restored in 2022 in a luxurious and eco-friendly coming together of the 13th and 17th centuries, creating the most unique and exclusive retreat on the Cote d’Azur.
Steeped in history and legend, there are medieval secrets to be discovered throughout the estate while within the six independent buildings, including the Governor’s House and the Old Fortress Tower, high end comforts, contemporary chic decor and technology reign supreme. There are 12 bedrooms in total, each spacious and decadent, while the main living area with its cool marble floors spills out onto a spectacular terrace overlooking the Tower, the gardens and the azure blue sea beyond.
Through the delightful gardens a maze of paths wends through the forest of fragrant trees to stumble upon hidden fountains, vegetable gardens, shady seating and eventually, the sea. Nestled within you’ll find the large heated pool, a summer kitchen and huge alfresco dining area and the opulent wellness centre with treatment rooms, sauna, hammam and gym.
