Situated in a tranquil agricultural setting close to the popular towns of Santanyí and Felanitx in the south-east of the island, the villa is only a short drive away from restaurants and shops, beautiful beaches and marinas, as well as from golf courses and charming little villages. With 5 en-suite bedrooms, a 12m heated swimming pool, air-conditioning throughout, satellite TV, table tennis, bikes and much more, Casa St. Antony is designed as a family house to ideally suit two parties with children.

VILLA DETAILS

Casa St. Anthony has been extensively renovated in the last year and is tastefully decorated with all modern amenities including satellite TV and DVD player, iPod docking station, PC for guest’s use, Wi-Fi internet, air-conditioning throughout as well as a modern fully equipped kitchen and security alarm system.

 

The house is set in over 5 acres of private land with plenty of olive, almond and carob trees that provide welcoming shade during hot summer days. Guests can also relax in the teak sunloungers that surround the 12m swimming pool or enjoy a glass of cold orange juice on one of the several al fresco lounge and dining terraces. 4 adult bikes (and 1 kids bike), table tennis, floatable pool toys or board games will entertain the children in the meantime.

 

In Cala d’Or (approximately 20-30minutes' drive from the villa), the owner’s yacht can be chartered on advance request to explore the nearby bays called calas with their crystal clear turquoise water and sandy beaches. Please ask your A&K Villas Consultant for further details and daily rates (incl. skipper, excl. fuel).


VILLA ACCOMMODATION

Ground Floor:

  • Entrance hall/study with a large desk and library style shelving (PC and printer/scanner available for client's use). The second hallway converts into an indoor dining area in cooler seasons.
  • Extensive sitting room with Sky+, DVD player, large flat screen TV and iPod docking station. Doors leading out onto the external terraces and pool area beyond.
  • Newly installed fitted kitchen with fridge/freezer, oven, microwave, gas hob and dishwasher. Door leading to a covered dining terrace (seating for 12).
  • Laundry room with washing machine and tumble dryer. Separate WC.
  • Bedroom 1: Twin bedroom with en-suite shower room
  • Bedroom 2: Twin bedroom with extra truckle bed (converts into full-size/height single bed) and doors leading to one of the outdoor terraces. En-suite shower room.

 

First Floor:

  • Master bedroom with original Mallorquin four-poster bed (1.70m) and doors leading out to the expansive upstairs terrace overlooking the pool and garden. En-suite bathroom.
  • Bedroom 4: Double bedroom (1.50m) with en-suite bathroom and walk-in wardrobe.
  • Bathroom 5: Twin bedroom with extra truckle bed (converts into full-size/height single bed) and en-suite shower room.

 

Outdoors:

  • A relaxed outdoor living area features large terraces, fully equipped with teak sunloungers surrounding the pool and looking out onto the almond and carob trees beyond.
  • The kitchen terrace offers dining for 12, a smaller terrace offers comfortable small-scale dining, and the pool house ‘casita’ outdoor sitting area is ideal for relaxing back on the sumptuous sofa and armchairs.
  • The casita also houses the built-in barbecue and preparation areas for outdoor cooking and a conveniently located fridge/freezer and bar area for poolside refreshments.


Notes

  • There is a balcony off an upstairs terrace which is not fully childproofed. We recommend children, especially those under six years old, are supervised by adults and not left alone in this area.


Security Deposit

Please be aware as a condition of your rental agreement we shall also ask you to lodge a Security Deposit at the point of making a booking amounting to 20% of the weekly rental cost of the property (or higher if required by the villa owner or for stays of three weeks or longer).  This is to protect the property owners for the cost of any damage or loss caused by wilful or accidental damage by members of the party that may occur during your stay or for any unpaid local charges. The Security Deposit is lodged with Abercrombie & Kent Villas in the form of a credit card authorization as detailed in the booking process; please ask for further details.

  • Villas are normally rented on a Saturday to Saturday basis throughout the year, however shorter breaks and alternative arrival days are available at some villas during low and mid seasons.
     
  • The standard 2012 season dates are: 
    High Season: 30th June to 31st  August 2012
    Mid Season: 19th May to 29th June 2012 & 1st  to 28th September 2012
    Low Season: 7th January to 18th May 2012 & 29th September 2012 to 6th January 2013

CURRENCY INFORMATION

The Euro (€) is the official currency of Majorca. Coins are available in 1 cent, 2 cent, 5 cent, 10 cent, 20 cent, 50 cent , €1 & €2 denominations. Notes are available in €5, €10, €20, €50, €100, €200, €500 denominations.

 

MONEY MATTERS

Travellers cheques are widely accepted for exchange or purchase in major cities, but in more rural areas, visit a bank to exchange them for Euros. Major credit cards are widely accepted here (though a limited number of merchants have American Express accounts) and ATM access is widespread.

Exchange currency only at authorized outlets such as banks and hotels, and exchange only what you think you will spend in-country. Coins cannot be reconverted on departure.

Save all receipts from any currency exchange transaction. You may be asked to produce them when you exit the country, and they are required if you intend to reconvert local currency.

 

TIPPING IN MAJORCA

The Spanish are fairly relaxed about tipping etiquette. However service is not usually included in restaurants and it is common practice to leave the spare change, or up to 10% of the total in a smarter restaurant. Taxi drivers and bartenders may be tipped less. Many petrol stations are not self service, however it is not usual to tip the station attendant.

 

ARRIVAL & DEPARTURE FORMALITIES

Travel documents are your responsibility. In general you should have:

  • A signed, valid passport that will remain valid for at least 6 months beyond the completion of your trip. Your passport must have enough blank pages (excluding amendment pages) available for entry and exit stamps issued when entering and exiting immigration points.
  • Visas are required for certain nationalities and you are strongly advised to check your status allowing plenty of time for visa application.

 

WEATHER IN MAJORCA

During the summer months the island typically has 11 hours of sunshine each day, average temperature topping 29ºC as well as virtually no rain. Spring's and autumn's temperatures range from 22ºC-28ºC and the region's sunshine is still between 8-10 hours a day. The weather can be unpredictable and much more changeable, with the night-time temperature dropping quite dramatically. The winter brings average temperatures dropping to a cooler 15ºC, and 5 hours of sunshine a day.

 

HEALTH CONSIDERATIONS

It is advisable to contact your doctor before you travel if you have any specific health concerns and take out appropriate travel and medical insurance.

 

ELECTRICITY SUPPLY IN MAJORCA

Electrical service in Spain, including Majorca, is supplied at 220-240 volts/50 hertz – a converter/adaptor may be required.

 

DRIVING IN MAJORCA

  • No right-hand turn on a red light.
  • Traffic from the RIGHT has right of way.
  • Passport or national ID as well as driver's license, insurance papers and ownership papers must be carried all the time.
  • National speed limit is 50km (31mph) in towns, 90km (56mph) on secondary non-urban highways (carretera secundaria), 100km (62mph) on dual carriageways (carretera/autovia), 120km (75mph) on motorways (autopista).; Speeding fines: 30 – 300 Euros.
  • Minimum driving age is 18.
  • For use of the highways (autopista) it is often necessary to pay a toll before access. Prices vary and are calculated by the distance of the journey.
  • There are strict laws concerning drinking and driving. Blood alcohol levels must not exceed 0,05%. There are random breathalyser tests carried out regularly by the police.
  • An international driving licence is not required for European citizens. Your locally issued driving licence, as long as it is accompanied by the passport, will suffice.
