In our hectic 9 to 5 working weeks, the privilege of precious time in which to cook and enjoy great food is sadly non existent. The importance of great meals can so easily be forgotten in a sea of convenience and ready meals, but lovers of food will understand just how much of a luxury fine dining is and how it is meant to be savoured and appreciated. Holidays are the ideal opportunity to sample new foods in new locations, without time constraints or the stresses of work on your mind.

A great meal, surrounded by good company in a beautiful location is an experience that is hard to beat and can be yours in many of Abercrombie & Kent’s luxury villas across France. During your stay, we can organise outstanding professional chefs to come in and cook up delicious, regional dishes for you to enjoy in the privacy of your own villa, all while never having to lift a finger.

French Chef Sensations


Chef Francoise is a regular visitor to La Bastide de Bonnieux, where he whips up traditional Provencal cuisine expertly. The stunning views over the picturesque Luberon region set the scene for a wonderful dining experience outdoors and in.

For a real star in French cooking, Chef Laurent can serve you some of the finest food around, serving in many properties including Le Lavendou and La Bastide St Remy. With an impressive back round in prestigious international establishments, such as multiple Michelin star restaurants and famous hotels, you can experience truly high class meals in the privacy of your personal villa. Sample Menu (Chef Specialities)

Appetizers
Various Apéritif with homemade cocktail snacks
Apéritif with sweet potato crisps, beetroot crisps, cones of salted salmon

Meat Dishes
- Pear crystallized with honey, cognac and ‘foie gras’
- Duck on skewers, garnished with thick anchovy paste
- Slices of duck marinated with Szechuan pepper
- Cream of duck soup and aromatic herbs
- Potted duck with wild mushrooms
- Young pigeon cooked with spices and honey, vegetables braised with aromatics herbs,‘foie gras’ sliced and lightly fried
Fish Course - Sea perch, monkfish, red mullet poached with saffron and dill, mayonnaise prepared with olive oil and garlic, eggs of wild salmon, crunchy croutons (a traditional dish in Provence)
- Lobster bisque in a light cream with saffron, sea crayfish marinated with vanilla and coriander

Dessert Course
- Assortment of cheeses eaten in a certain order, little boat of young salad leaves and flowers
- Light pastry case filled with red berries and currants, vanilla custard, fresh mint
- Chocolate surprises that will blow your mind!

St Paul, La Cachette and La Renardiere are some of our gorgeous properties in Cote d’Azur that have unbelievable kitchen facilities, which are spacious and well equipped, a place passionate chefs would dream about. If you do decide to venture outside in search of French cuisine, these villas are fortunately located close to one of the most famous restaurants in France, ‘La Colombe d’or’, famous for its excellent food and the stunning collection of art hanging on the walls.

A villa to fall head over heels for is Villa Surram, where you can enjoy cooking outside in the wake of a gorgeous view. The great outdoor summer kitchen with amazing sea views comes equipped with a professional pizza oven and BBQ, ideal for a night of home cooking under the stars, while listening to music on the incredible open-air sound system. The house chef Pauline is also on hand in case you decide to take the night off and is very flexible in cooking styles, preparing either gastronomic food or more casual dinners at your request.

You are sure to be looked after by the attentive and caring manager of Le Mas des Roses. Crikette is a lovely and talented home-style chef who will ensure that you enjoy your stay at the Provencal villa to its fullest. The property even has its own wine tasting room, the perfect place to start dinner by sampling some of the famous local wines before moving on to the grand dining room, seating up to 14 guests.

French Cooking - DIY


Those who fancy trying their hand at cooking themselves are safe in the capable hands of Chef Damien, who provides classes for every level in the expansive kitchen of Mas du Luberon. An expert in his field, Damien has travelled throughout Europe working in Michelin star restaurants across France and Switzerland, even working as a pastry chef in London. Truly wise and experienced, under the care of Chef Damien you will be cooking like a pro in no time at all.
Classes can be taken alone or along with a group of friends for an interactive cooking and decorating experience.
