Morzine | Bedrooms: 5 | Sleeps: 8 + 3

Rates: Rates available on request.

Chalet iGloo is one of the coolest chalets in the Alps and is located just off Pleney ski slopes in the hamlet of Les Nants, Morzine. It's just a short few minute stroll to the shops and bars of Morzine and when the snow is good those with some skiing experience will be able to traverse from the slopes right to the door. There's also an in-resort chauffeur who is on hand to take you to any of the major lift hubs in the Portes du Soleil.

One of the best features of iGloo is the double-height living space which has amazing furnishings and bags of light. The far end is pretty much entirely made of glass to take in those all important mountain views up the Ardoisiere valley to neighbouring Avoriaz and across Morzine to Roc d'Enfer. It's one big space with comfortable leather sofas, a contemporary dining table and a stylish kitchen with breakfast bar. There's plenty more entertaining space in the property as it has a cinema room with twelve original cinema seats and a bar. iGloo also has table football, a very large gym / relaxation room with treadmill, cross trainer, a DVD player, a huge sauna and an Italian rain shower. Chalet iGloo has five bedrooms, four of them are master suites all with sumptuous beds and stunning views through over-size windows. The suites all have large cowhide rugs, dressing tables and a flat screen TV. Of course they all have en-suite bathrooms and each has a bath tub, two have his and hers sinks. It's incredibly rare to find a property with such equally proportioned bedrooms and this makes it very flexible in suiting families and groups travelling together. Two of the suites have zip-lock beds so they can be configured as either doubles or twins. The fifth bedroom is a children's bunk room. The chalet has a large ski room that's just as stylish as the rest of the property and has heated boot warmers. There's also a very well stocked wine cellar with both house wines and numerous à la carte options.

Activities in Portes du Soleil

Bowling Alley

  • A great activity to do after being on the slopes or if you have non-skiers with you it’s a mildly energetic activity for during the day

Cinema

  • You can catch up on the latest films here. On bad weather days you will find they open their doors early so you can hide out.

Helicopter rides

  • Being able to sit back, relax and take photos of the top of the mountains is not something that many get to do. The views of the snow topped Alps could be a tick off your bucket list.

Ice skating

  • As the skating rink is indoor you could use this as way to get those leg muscles burning on bad weather days.

Parapenting

  • Otherwise known as paragliding to the rest of the world this is a unique way to see the Alps and the views of the valley without really doing much at all.

Snowshoe walking

  • Perfect to do in bad weather or for non-skiers, it is a fantastic way to see the mountains and to get out and enjoy the snow.

Husky sledging

  • Being in charge of your own team of excitable dogs, flying down the forest paths following your guide, a very active couple of hours for an afternoon off the piste.

Hot-Air Ballooning

  • A truly unique experience, the views are stunning and it is such a surreal way to see the mountains. A must do here is Morzine

Ice diving

  • Take the plunge into the icy cold waters of the Lake. Get to explore the depths of the water and the ice formations. A strange underwater adventure that shouldn’t be missed.

Nightlife

  • With many cosmopolitan bars and clubs to choose from, you can keep your après going way into the early hours of the morning.

For Taxis as in restaurants, round up or add 5% when you're happy with the service. Tips to your chalet staff are entirely at your discretion.

The finishing touches

Ever dreamt of driving through the Chianti hills in a red Ferrari, or along the Moyenne Corniche to Monaco in a Bentley? How about sailing along the Cote d'Azur to St Tropez in a private yacht or speed boat? Sometimes the home is all that you need, but if you're lured into culture, excitement, activity, improving your cooking or simply dabbling in landscapes, then speak to one of our Villa Specialists for an insight into what we can arrange. These are what we call our ‘Finishing Touches’.
