Free lifts - For the less confident there are the free ski lifts at the base of the resort

Helicopter flight - There is a Heli Pad between the centre of town and the village of La Daille so taking a helicopter flight might just be a little easier than first thought. Soaring up above the mountains, toward the eye of the needle in Tignes, it really is an incredible experience

Ice Climbing - If you are a complete novice or a super sporty there is something for everyone. You will be taken up by one of the mountain pros and taught how to tackle the elements of the frozen waterfall

Dog Sledging - You will be given a brief lesson in how to control your team of dogs then you will head out in convoy on your tour of the snowy piste. If you don’t feel comfortable controlling your one sleigh you can opt to sit in and be driven by an instructor

Snowshow hiking - A tour of the mountain with your snow shoes, led by an instructor. You will see some incredible views. A fantastic activity for those who don’t ski

Cross country skiing - The track is based at the edge of the village of Val, it is very well groomed and can be a very good way to burn off the fondue from last night

Paragliding - With many activity companies in resort it is easy to book a paragliding flight. Running from the top of the mountain, soaring back down into the valley, it will be certainly be something to tick off the bucket list

Ice rink - Based at the bottom of the pistes, just above the town centre is a natural ice rink. Well lit so you can ice skate into the early evening it is a great way to work up your appetite for supper

Ice driving circuit - Racing a BMW around an ice circuit is a very different way to spend an hour or so. You can pick the size and style of car you drive and can slide your way across the track

TIPPING SUGGESTIONS
In restaurants a service charge is built into menu prices. However, it's customary to round up amounts when paying the waiter or waitress if you're happy with the service. This means that you might hand the server EUR 50 for a EUR 47 meal. If you're paying by credit card, hand the server a cash tip of up to 5%. For Taxis as in restaurants, round up or add 5% when you're happy with the service. Tips to your chalet staff are entirely at your discretion.

ARRIVAL AND DEPARTURE FORMALITIES
Travel documents are your responsibility. In general you should have: a signed, valid passport that will remain valid for at least 6 months beyond the completion of your trip. Your passport must have enough blank pages (excluding amendment pages) available for entry and exit stamps issued when entering and exiting immigration points. Visas are required for certain nationalities and you are strongly advised to check your status allowing plenty of time for visa application.

WEATHER
The alpine climate is cold and visitors should wear warm, waterproof clothing at all times when outdoors during the winter. Hats and gloves are also essential to prevent frostbite. Sunglasses or ski goggles are also necessary to reduce the glare of the sun on the snow.

The finishing touches

Ever dreamt of driving through the Chianti hills in a red Ferrari, or along the Moyenne Corniche to Monaco in a Bentley? How about sailing along the Cote d'Azur to St Tropez in a private yacht or speed boat? Sometimes the home is all that you need, but if you're lured into culture, excitement, activity, improving your cooking or simply dabbling in landscapes, then speak to one of our Villa Specialists for an insight into what we can arrange. These are what we call our ‘Finishing Touches’.

The list is by no means exhaustive and we always welcome requests, however obscure you may think they are! Our local offices enable us to control the quality of the services on offer and the depth of knowledge our local teams have is impressive. Our aim is to provide guests with the authentic sights, flavours and experiences of the region they are staying in.
