Occupying two hectares in the prestigious residential Mal Pas area outside Alcudia and in close proximity of not one, but two sandy beaches; Villa Can Caya will satisfy even the highest demands when it comes to location and exclusivity.

Despite being a stone's throw away from all the action in and around Alcudia, you will be forgiven for not wanting to leave the spectacular grounds of your rental home. Everything expected from an ultra-luxurious family holiday can be found here; from an exceptionally large 20m saltwater pool (with security cover and heating available) and separate Jacuzzi & Spa zone, to an array of children's facilities including a playground and football pitch, table tennis and PlayStation as well as the entire top floor of the main house which is best suited to a group of youngsters. Built in a contemporary mansion style and sleeping up to 20 guests in total, you will appreciate Villa Can Caya's generous proportions and the far-reaching views over the sweeping garden and the waters of Alcudia Bay beyond. Indoors, the clean lines, indirect lighting and subtle colours will immediately clear your mind and prompt you to unwind and relax. Each room of the air-conditioned villa has been tastefully designed and pieces of the owner's exquisite art collection have been positioned to great effect.

Main House

  • Light and airy sitting room with comfy seating and doors leading out onto the terraces and pool area.
  • Dining room (seats 10+).
  • Fully-equipped kitchen.
  • Cosy cinema room with Apple TV.
  • Office area with desk.
  • WC and laundry room.
  • On the top floor you will find a sitting area with TV and PlayStation games console, ideal for a group of children as well as adults.
  • Eight bedrooms with TV and en suite shower or bathrooms. Some of the bedrooms have sea views and others views over the garden and grounds.

Modern Guest House:

  • The guest house has two bedrooms with TV and en suite shower rooms. They share a living area and terrace (great for morning yoga sessions). Large glass doors allow external access to all rooms.

A third building has two staff rooms with small beds and an industrial kitchen (on request).

Gardens and Grounds:

  • 18 square kilometers of lush garden and grounds, walled and gated.
  • 20x8m saltwater swimming pool with security cover and heating (both on request, heating at extra cost).
  • Jacuzzi under covered pergola.
  • Sauna available in pool house.
  • Al fresco BBQ area and several dining and lounge terraces.
  • Children's playground with swing and football/soccer pitch.
  • Vegetable garden and fruit tree orchard.


  • An additional security deposit of minimum EUR 10,000 will be required per booking to protect the property owner for the cost of any damage or loss caused by willful or accidental damage by members of the party.
  • The property is equipped with an alarm and CCTV cameras for client's safety.
  • There are several water features on the vast grounds, i.e. fish pond. Hence young children require constant supervision by an adult.

Currency Information

The Euro (€) is the official currency of Majorca. Coins are available in 1 cent, 2 cent, 5 cent, 10 cent, 20 cent, 50, cent , €1 & €2 denominations. Notes are available in €5, €10, €20, €50, €100, €200, €500 denominations.

Money Matters

Travellers cheques are widely accepted for exchange or purchase in major cities, but in more rural areas, visit a bank to exchange them for Euros. Major credit cards are widely accepted here (though a limited number of merchants have American Express accounts) and ATM access is widespread.
Exchange currency only at authorized outlets such as banks and hotels, and exchange only what you think you will spend in-country. Coins cannot be reconverted on departure.  
Save all receipts from any currency exchange transaction. You may be asked to produce them when you exit the country, and they are required if you intend to reconvert local currency.

Tipping in Majorca

The Spaniards are fairly relaxed about tipping etiquette. However service is not usually included in restaurants and it is common practice to leave the spare change, or up to 10% of the total in a smarter restaurant. Taxi drivers and bartenders may be tipped less. Many petrol stations are not self service, however it is not usual to tip the station attendant.

Arrival & Departure Formalities

Travel documents are your responsibility. In general you should have:

  • A signed, valid passport that will remain valid for at least 6 months beyond the completion of your trip. Your passport must have enough blank pages (excluding amendment pages) available for entry and exit stamps issued when entering and exiting immigration points.
  • Visas are required for certain nationalities and you are strongly advised to check your status allowing plenty of time for visa application.

Weather in Majorca

During the summer months the islands typically has 11 hours of sunshine each day, average temperature topping 29ºC as well as virtually no rain. Spring's and autumn's temperatures range from 22ºC-28ºC and the region's sunshine is still between 8-10 hours a day. The weather can be unpredictable and much more changeable, with the night-time temperature dropping quite dramatically. The winter brings average temperatures dropping to a cooler 15ºC, and 5 hours of sunshine a day. 

Health considerations

It is advisable to contact your doctor before you travel if you have any specific health concerns and take out appropriate travel and medical insurance.

Electricity supply in Majorca

Electrical service in Spain, including Majorca, is supplied at 220-240 volts/50 hertz – a converter/adaptor may be required.

Driving in Majorca

  • No right-hand turn on a red light.
  • Traffic from the RIGHT has right of way.
  • Passport or national ID as well as driver's license,insurance papers and ownership papers must be carried all the time.
  • An international driving licence is not required for European citizens. Your locally issued driving licence, as long as it is accompanied by the passport, will suffice.
  • National speed limit is 50km (31mph) in towns, 90km (56mph) on secondary non-urban highways (carretera secundaria), 100km (62mph) on dual carriageways (carretera/autovia), 120km (75mph) on motorways (autopista). Speeding fines: 30 – 300 Euros.
  • Minimum driving age is 18.
  • For use of the highways (autopista) it is often necessary to pay a toll before access. Prices vary and are calculated by the distance of the journey. 
  • There are strict laws concerning drinking and driving. Blood alcohol levels must not exceed 0,05%. There are random breathalyser tests carried out regularly by the police.


Villa Can Caya occupies a spacious 18km2-estate in second line to the sea in the exclusive residential area of Mal Pas, 2km outside of Alcudia. In less than hundred meters guests can walk to two small sandy beaches, Playa de Sant Joan and Playa El Mal Pas. Longer stretches of sandy beach can be found in Port de Alcudia (4km, 10-min drive) and at Port de Pollenca (9km, 15-min drive).

In addition to Alcudia’s huge selection of eateries and shops, we also highly recommend visiting the charming town of nearby Pollenca (13km from villa) with an excellent gastronomy and array of activities.

Golf lovers will like the fact that the renowned Alcanada golf course is a mere 7km away from the villa and Golf Pollenca is also only 12km down the road.

Palma and the airport can be reached easily via the motorway in 45-50 minutes by car (approx. 60km).

Availability Information

  • Villas are normally rented on a Saturday to Saturday basis throughout the year. However, shorter breaks and/or alternative arrival days are available at some villas during Low and Mid seasons.
  • Please note that the standard check-in time at Villa Can Caya is between 5-8pm and that we ask guests to vacate the property by 10am on departure day, unless otherwise agreed in advance.
