More about Lucca
Lucca is in the north-west of Italy on the river Serchio and is a city with a huge history. One of the main points of interest is its renaissance-era city walls, which are still intact and today are now used as a pedenstrianised promenade which encircles the old town. This region is a historian’s paradise with a wide range of churches and museums located in the city which offer a wealth of information into its interesting past. A beautiful botanical garden and a water garden both come alive in the spring and a trip to the Palazzo Pfanner is perfect in April. Visitors can enjoy a tour of the gardens and learn about the history of the building, including its use in films and the historic production of Pfanner Beer on the grounds. The property is also an ideal base for exploring further afield in Italy and day trips are accessible to Pisa, Florence and Siena.
