Five Fab Reasons to Book a Villa Holiday

 Côte d'Azur

Sometimes you can't beat the laid-back luxury of a convenient, all-inclusive hotel, but if you've got the family in tow, are feeling adventurous or are counting the pennies, a villa holiday can be both flexible and economical. Here's the top five reasons our customers give for why they return to our villas year after year.

1. Amazing views - all to yourself. No walking out on to your hotel balcony and seeing your next door neighbours or the couple across the way. Sometimes it pays to be selfish: your own private hideaway means you can feel totally secluded with no nosy neighbour to spoil your perfect outlook. Uninterrupted views are pretty much standard across our villas portfolio, so whether you're in the heart of the rolling patwork hills of Tuscany or gazing out from your cliffside villa on a Greek island, you'll have it all to yourself.

2. You're on you time - all the time. That's right: no set time for breakfast and no having to get up at 7am to reserve your sun lounger. You're on holiday: you shouldn't have to rush to get the best table at the lunch buffet or queue for the jacuzzi. One of the best elements of a villa holiday has to be the total lack of organised activities: eat when and where you like, no staff to coerce you into activities and the chance to be completely spontaneous. Fancy a boat trip to another island or a drive down the coast? No problem! With no 'board' options to be mindful of, you'll not miss out on the bland hotel cuisine either. Our customers frequently tell us about little out of town tavernas and restaurants, or secluded coves, that they'd otherwise have missed. Surely that's what a holiday is all about?!

3. Screaming kids are all part of the fun. We all have a story to recount about that time we stayed in a beautiful hotel - only for someone else's children to ruin the peace and quiet by running around the pool screaming. Or crying in the restaurant. Or crying through the night. Our little darlings may be precious to us, but on holiday they can get overexcited... and loud. At a villa however, the kids (and you, if you're that way inclined) can make as much noise as you like: it's often a worry that they'll be too loud or splash everyone around the pool, but when it's just you there's less pressure to keep them on their best behaviour. Feel free to play pool games (safety first) such as volleyball, and splash each other to your hearts content. There's no neighbours to disturb and no other guests to consider so you're all free to relax and enjoy yourselves. Similarly, if your idea of relaxtion is a child-free pool all to yourself - enjoy yourself! There'll be no little ones to worry about, so your adults-on holiday is just that.

4. It's your home away from home. Your own kitchen, living room, garden, barbeque facilties... ironing board... That's right! You can play chef and cook up incredible treats using local produce (or hire one of our chefs in to do it for you), there's no laundry charges if you need to wash some socks or iron a rumpled fresh-from-the case shirt. While some people enjoy being waited on hand and foot, others relish the freedom of staying in a kitted out, high spec private house that they don't have to clean at the end of the week! Our complimentary linen service ensures that your sheets are always fresh and comfortably soft, whilst the cleaning of your villa is included in the cost. If you just can't face the thought of cooking (or lifting a finger) we can provide a host who willbe on hand to cook light meals at select times, do your shopping and help familiarise you with the local area. A villa holiday allows you to fully relax in a beautiful home from home environment.

5. The pool is always open. Your private pool is probably going to be one of the highlights of your stay. And why not?! Many of our villas have infinity pools with beautiful views over the Mediterranean, or sweeping vistas across the jaw-dropping Amalfi coastline. There's no lifeguard, so you'll need to ensure that safety comes first, but that means you can swim whenever you please. Late evening is often when the view comes into its own, and there's nothing like taking a few minutes in the warm dusk to watch the sun slowly begin its descent below the horizon. Once you're properly chilled out, get glammed up and head out into one of the nearby towns for dining alfresco and drinks til the early hours.

If we've inspired you to take a villa holiday next time, why not have a look at some of our spectacular villas? We've tiny bolt holes in Italian cities to flaboyant mansions in the Balearics and Greece. There's no better time to try a villa, and with incredible offers across many of our properties it pays to book now.
