Fine Corsican wine enjoyed in forested seclusion

In the Corsican hills, the occasional terracotta roof is all that interrupts the verdant forests. Our luxury villas in Sartene offer serene stays inside ancient stone walls that blend seamlessly with the arid Corsican rock. Expansive vineyards bear testament to the heritage of this region, and contribute to its undeniable charm. All of our villas in Sartene come with their own pools, providing an opulent way to enjoy the landscape in style. They’re also located an easy distance from the coast, meaning sandy beaches days and azure waters are never more than a picturesque drive away.

About Sartene

Sartene offers a truly authentic Corsican experience. Hidden from the eye of tourists, this medieval district brims with teetering buildings, ancient ruins and mazes of narrow passages and alleyways. The solemn architecture offers a real insight into the region’s history, while Sartene’s welcoming locals make it feel just like home.

Immerse yourself in historic tales with a tour of the ancient citadels and ruined castles emerging from Sartene’s forested hills. We can also recommend a visit to the Museum of Prehistory. Absolutely chock full with impressive artefacts, discovered locally as well as in the wider surrounding area, this is bound to astound! For an indulgent day of relaxation, another option is to simply lie beside your villa’s pool. Most of our luxury villas in Sartene also come with air conditioning, allowing you to enjoy a cool siesta during the heat of the day.

Seven kilometres north of Sartene is the Domaine Fiumicicoli winery. Here you can see exactly where and how award-winning wines are made. Sample a few, just to identify your favourite, and pick up a bottle or two to enjoy as an aperitif. Combine this with some local delicacies from one of Sartene’s markets or gourmet food shops, and you have all you need for an evening that will kick off with a glorious sunset viewed poolside from a cushioned lounger.
