About Grimaud & St. Maxime
What Grimaud lacks in size, it makes up for in personality. This appealing little village is absolutely packed with history and charm. Many of the house here were constructed in the 15th- and 16th- centuries and while some retain their ancient-styled stone walls, others have been restored in contemporary vibrant hues. Even in the most modern villa you are only ever a short walk away from stoic castle ruins and lush views of the ancient hills and iconic Bay of St Tropez.
The streets in Grimaud are perfect for explorers. Take in boutiques, antiques and markets as you tour the numerous village plaques that offer insights into its unique history. We also recommend a short trip to La Garde Freinet, a medieval mountain village overflowing with pretty fountains. Popular for its restaurants and local art galleries, it’s an excellent vantage point for further views across the moors.
The dynamic resort of St Maxime is flanked with inviting white beaches and enticing forested hills. Enjoy a dip in the waters or a stroll through the ancient trees here. The rustic region that surrounds Plan de la Tour offers secluded landscapes of natural beauty where you can take vigorous hike, rounded off back at your villa by a cool glass of wine and an air-conditioned siesta. It doesn’t get much more blissful than that!
