About Aix-en-Provence

Located in the Provence hills, Aix-en-Provence is where the Alpilles meet the Cote d’Azur. Combining the distinctive natural landscape with ancient bright stone architecture and a large student population, Aix-en-Provence has a bustling and youthful vibe. From grand fountains to opulent shrines, its lively streets and the surrounding greenery have inspired many works by the famous post-Impressionist painter, Paul Cezanne.

Aix-en-Provence has a thriving arts and cultural scene. Despite its relatively small size, the town hosts two popular annual music events: the opera-focussed Festival d’Aix-en-Provence and Musique dans la Rue. On any given day, you’ll find numerous classical and jazz concerts, too.

With steady sunshine warming flowing rivers and canals, outdoor activities are also extremely popular here. Head out hiking in the mountains, hop on a bicycle or brave the waters of the Rhone in a canoe. For the ultimate indulgence after your exertions, we can arrange some spa treatments in your chateau. Our luxury villas in Aix-en-Provence provide an idyllic location for some serious rest and relaxation, surrounded by some of France’s most spectacular scenery and cultural heritage.
