About mainland Greece

The birthplace of modern civilisation, Greece offers a fascinating history-packed getaway. Overlooked by the 2,000 year-old ruins of the Acropolis and mighty Parthenon, its capital Athens lies at the heart of modern and Ancient Greek culture. Athens is packed with museums, classical art and sculpture, making it a past time paradise. Just south of the capital lies the azure beach resort of Lagonisi. Full of outdoor experiences, including boat cruises, scuba diving, helicopter rides and golf, we highly recommend Lagonisi for active holidaymakers. A short distance along the coast lies Cape Sounion, a dramatic walled promontory which is home to the Temple of Poseidon. From here you’ll have some of the best views of the Greek mainland, particularly in the late afternoon when the light creates dramatic contrasts across the coast. Many of our luxury villas in mainland Greece are close to the Peloponnese peninsula, jutting like a welcoming hand into the Mediterranean. The region is rich with the heady scent of citrus groves and fruit orchards. It also contains some of the most secluded Greek beaches you’ll ever find. Sitting on the glittering waterfront at Galatas, sipping a well-earned glass of ouzo, you can watch the boats coming and going from the nearby island of Poros, and feel the stress drift away as smoothly as the vessels upon the water.
