About Casa Selinunte
Casa Selinunte is a beautifully appointed single storey villa enclosed by a wonderfully designed garden of bamboo, palms, cactus and olive trees. Surrounded by vineyards and olive groves, from the villa enjoy commanding views over the countryside and a panorama second to none. Located in the south east of Sicily, Casa Selinunte is just a short drive from the golden sandy beaches and clear waters of the Mediterranean. With just two en suite bedrooms, the villa is a great retreat for a small family or two couples travelling together.
Terracotta tiles and parquet floors paired with ochre coloured walls show off the wooden furniture in the villa. Intricately ornated woodwork, cushioned rattan outdoor furniture and beautiful artworks give Casa Selinunte a luxurious and unique appeal. Divided into two sections, the house has two spacious and comfortable bedrooms in the unit next to the common area. On request and extra cost it is also possible to add a further bedroom, but please note that this is located across the garden. The kitchen invites to prepare delicious meals with fresh local produce while the outdoor pergola is a marvellous setting for eating together. The pool in front of the villa is the perfect place to cool off on hot summer days, while an ornamental lake at the back of the villa provides a peaceful view. Beyond the grounds of the villa is the rolling countryside with vineyards and olive groves which lead to the nearby sea. Just five minutes away by car is sandy Selinunte beach. Casa Selinunte is not only close to beaches but also to important archaeological sites like Selinunte, Segesta and Eraclea Minoa. The area is rich in history and well documented in towns like Sciacca, Marsala and Trapani, just to name a few. Worthwhile mentioning is also the new Gibellina, created by famous Italian architects and decorated by works of contemporary artists after the old Gibellina was devastated in a terrible earthquake. Although the immediate surrounding produces excellent wine, you should drive 30min east to the vinery Planeta, one of the most important in Italy.
