About Villa Naya Maria
Villa Naya Maria is a bright white bolthole of stripped-back serenity and mood-boosting minimalism, designed to echo the effortless flow of a hotel whilst maintaining a strong sense of exclusivity. The sleek, stone property is split into a handful of buildings. The main bedroom takes over the upper level of the largest one, with sea views from the wide-open terrace. Below is a living room area, a dining area, and a fully equipped kitchen.
A floating white staircase appears to lead directly to heaven; indeed, there’s an elysian quality to the light-filled, minimalist’s fever dream that is Villa Naya Maria. The other four bedrooms are set in individual bungalow-style blocks with French windows opening onto terraces, so couples and kids can have their own space. All five bedrooms are ensuite, with touches of texture provided by the odd rattan table, blanket ladder or woven basket.
Cactus and agave are planted around the pool, and cool outdoor seating areas are protected by bamboo pergolas from the summer sun and meltemi winds. Lazy lunches and outdoor barbecues quickly become part of the daily rhythm here.
The location
Paros is the Greek islands’ low-key catch-all for families, friends and couples seeking sunshine and blissed-out beaches with fewer crowds but just as much fun. Villa Naya Maria is set on the north coast in Santa Maria, a barely-there hamlet a 10-minute drive from the vibrant fishing village of Naoussa. A five-minute stroll away is Mikri Santa Maria, the loveliest little beach with calm, clear water, a beach bar and watersports.
