About Palazzo Moltrasio
Palazzo Moltrasio is one of the grandest villas on Lake Como. And it has very stiff competition. Owned by one of Italy’s wealthiest families, it has hosted some of the most prominent people in the world over the centuries, not just among its guests but also among those who made it such a triumph of elegance. Built on the ruins of an ancient monastery, the villa was redesigned by the architect Felice Soavi, who was responsible for the facade of Milan’s cathedral. Its ceilings were frescoed by Andrea Appiani, who frescoed the Royal Palace in Milan.
The villa offers eight impeccably deluxe suites, a TV room, sauna, private swimming pool and private lake access. The property is filled with magnificent paintings, sculptures, tapestries and Venetian chandeliers. Original terracotta and wooden floors are lavishly covered with beautiful rugs, while stylish fabrics, upholstery and drapery create a sumptuous finish throughout.
Palazzo Moltrasio is surrounded by the finest Italian-style gardens, that roll gently down towards the lake. A vegetable garden and orchard provide fresh produce for the kitchen. There’s the rare treat of a historic greenhouse, extravagant water fountains, and a private dock area that has been luxuriantly planted with roses, jasmine and oleander.
A panoramic swimming terrace is filled with lemon and olive trees. In this scented paradise you can lounge in the sun with a cocktail as you survey the incredible natural beauty and landscaped opulence that surrounds you.
Palazzo Moltrasio offers the lavish Lake Como lifestyle masterfully perfected.
