About Masseria Serrano
Set among swathes of centuries-old olive trees, Masseria Serrano is a villa in Puglia that appears to be equally rooted in the fertile Italian soil of Apulia. Spacious, elegant and serene, the immaculate estate offers the ideal place to enjoy the laid-back Italian lifestyle.
The sublime main villa has been sculpted out of local pietra leccese, a type of limestone. It's design is based on a traditional masseria. These typical fortified farmhouses centre on a courtyard. But here the rustic trappings end: the outside’s historic grace gives way to the inside's contemporary comforts and modern furnishings.
The huge open plan living area and kitchen open out into the garden. There's an en suite master bedroom, a double with a bathroom and a family suite. A further double with bathroom is tucked away in a separate circular stone building that playfully echoes the traditional shape of a Trullo (without the conical roof).
Once settled in to Masseria Serrano, you can work up a sweat on the all-weather tennis court before firing up the barbecue or making a traditional pizza in the stone pizza oven. Enjoy al fresco dining under a pergola draped in lush green vines or simply relax with a good book and admire the views across the olive groves.
For even greater serenity, you can practise your sun salutes in the yoga area of the gardens. And, later, say goodbye to another perfect day with a cocktail as you watch the sun gracefully set.
