About Borgo Nerello
Discover la bella vita Borgo Nerello in the hamlet of Rovittello in the Catania region of Sicily. A holiday here is your opportunity to live like a real Italian local. With only 80 residents in Rovittello, you will be part of the community while you are here – frequenting the small grocery store in the village and understanding the routine of daily life.
This is the time to learn or perfect your Italian, aided by the proximity of the people and your full immersion in their lives. Situated on a wine-producing estate, you will find yourself in the adjoining wine shop on several occasions, enjoying the wine for which the slopes of Mount Etna are also famed.
Borgo Nerello is in the old 17th-century palmento – a basin in which the grapes from the wine harvest are crushed so its history is ever-present. Sleeping 12 people over six bedrooms, it’s an ideal base for wine exploration of this interesting region and some excellent golf on the nearby course. There is also a small tourist train close to the villa, which runs once an hour and offers a tour of the Etna region.
