About Il Frantoio
It’s hard to imagine a more fitting villa in Tuscany than Il Frantoio. This newly refurbished accommodation was once an olive press, used by villagers to create the fine oil that the region is so famous for. The faintest hint of olives still pervades the property. Only romantics would suggest that a historic aroma has pervaded the walls. Realists will point to the vast, olive groves that today surround the villa.
This atmospheric and historic villa offers a relaxing holiday in Tuscany. Il Frantoio embodies a cosy, intimate charm. It offers spectacular views of a typical Tuscan valley, looking down to the medieval walled town of Lucca.
Following its complete renovation, Il Frantoio has still managed to reintain its Tuscan character. Original terracotta tiles and wooden beamed ceilings throughout ensure this. Its immaculate furnishings in warm, rich colours help too. Comfortable furniture, sizeable living areas and en suite bedrooms provide all the comforts discerning guests require.
The immaculate gardens contain flowers spilling luxuriantly out of their beds and shaded dining areas that are ideal for al fresco feasts, canapes and cocktails. The large 13x4m swimming pool frames the magnificent sunset views over the valley. And the peaks of the Apennine Mountains shimmer in the distance, but there’s always tomorrow for that hike!
