About Lucca

One of Tuscany’s most captivating cities, Lucca’s Renaissance city walls contain more than their fair share of beautiful historical sites. Upon arrival to its cobbled streets, the first thing we recommend is walking or cycling around the pathway on top of the city’s perimeter wall. Providing unrivalled views of the nearby countryside, this is an excellent way to get your bearings. Italy sets the bar high when it comes to culinary delights, and Lucca’s rustic dishes are no exception to this rule. Explore its many food markets or dine at one of Lucca’s fabulous restaurants, amid atmospheric tree-lined streets. The city prides itself on its fine dining, with its chefs using only the freshest local produce. Rest assured, your taste buds will be well and truly stimulated. After sating your hunger, give your eyes a feast at one of Lucca’s museums and art galleries. One of our favourites is the Puccini Museum. Located in the house where this great composer was born, you’ll learn all about Italy’s fascinating history as the birthplace of opera. Under half an hour from the coast and within day-tripping distance to Florence, all our luxury villas in Lucca are impeccably placed at the foot of the vast Apuan Alps. With countryside walks to relish, vineyards to explore and poolside terraces from which to soak up the views, getaways in Tuscany don’t get much better than this.
