About Villa Milla de Oro
The epitome of old-school glamour on the Andalucian coast. Pack your heels but don’t forget a pair of Hermès Oran sandals for walking. Villa Milla de Oro is in the best location on the Golden Mile, tucked away in almost 12,000sqm of manicured grounds but still close enough to the action. It’s just a breezy 15-minute stroll along the promenade for lunch at MC Beach or Chiringuito, and 25 minutes in the cool of the evening for dinner in the Old Town. Or you can hunker down and enjoy the peace and quiet of the fully staffed estate, family-owned for two generations and now available to rent. There is a real sense of elegance to the villa architecture – it was originally designed in the 1960s by Robert Mosher, a protégé of Frank Lloyd Wright. A stunning recent renovation means everything is gleaming. Moorish influence is channelled via carved lattice-work ceilings and Moroccan lanterns, paired with contemporary art and oversized furniture. With 15 spacious bedrooms for 30 guests spread across the main house, guest house and pool house, it delivers the perfect breathing space for multi-generational gatherings. There is an indoor cinema, table football and air hockey for the big and the little kids, and endless sitting rooms and terraces for everyone to spread out. The two heated swimming pools also keep a mixed crowd happy, and the main one, with its infinity edge and unobstructed sea views, is especially picturesque. There is direct beach access for morning dips, and at the end of the day the sun sets over the water behind the Straits of Gibraltar.
