About Glenshiel
Formerly a manse kitchen garden for the Free Church of Scotland, Glenshiel has a simplified Georgian architectural structure. It sits within putting distance from the first tee of the world acclaimed Royal Dornoch Golf Club, a coastal links course which has hosted famous players from Tom Watson to Rory McIlroy. Dornoch Cathedral is also within walking distance.
The owner called the property Glenshiel after ‘Sheila’, the previous owner, and the Gaelic word for pure valley ‘Glen’. Each suite contains a nod to the past, with a unique Highland tweed in every room. The property is also one of the few in the world to use Royal warranted Hypnos Mattresses, the only brand of mattresses used in Royal residences. Guests also have the choice of either a duvet or cashmere blanket to keep them warm at night, and a selection of pillow types to choose from.
This level of luxury is to be expected, as Glenshiel is part of a famous five-star hotel, so you can expect high Highland service during your stay. Enjoy the range of amenities close by, while entertaining your friends and family in the private suites and apartment.
A gateway to the North Highlands, Glenshiel even comes with its own resident wizard – a gardener and herbalist who assists the head chef in creating unique recipes. It’s quite simply, magical.
