About Painswick Court
Once visited by King Charles I, this centuries-old country house is bursting with history and charm. Located in the heart of Painswick village, Painswick Court accommodates up to 22 guests and offers a host of original features. The wood-panelled courtroom features a 16th-century fireplace, while a hidden door leads to a vaulted games room via an original staircase. There’s also a range of modern amenities including an outdoor pool and a wine cellar.
Spread over the first and second floors, plus an annexe, the eleven bedrooms feature relaxed country interiors. They also come with characterful accents like wooden beams and stone mullion windows. All have en suite or private bathrooms. Downstairs, there’s a spacious kitchen/diner, plus a large sitting room with an open fireplace. Overlooking the garden is the cosy library, while the wood-panelled dining room seats up to 16 guests.
In the immediate area, keen gardeners will love the Painswick Rococo Garden. Batsford Arboretum and Blenheim Palace Park & Gardens are slightly further afield. Painswick Court is also well placed for exploring the burgeoning Cotswolds food scene. It's increasingly lauded for its award-winning restaurants, creative chefs and outstanding local produce. Your luxury Cotswolds holiday home can come with a cook service for evening meals, so you can enjoy some culinary delights in the comfort of Painswick Court too.
