Having wider Europe on the doorstep makes Britain a great base. All corners of the continent ooze culture and history and, although everyone has their own favourite destination, there’s always somewhere new to explore. I’ve worked seasonally in France, Portugal and Switzerland, and still have so much still to discover.

Lake Como in Lombardy, Italy

Which destination is top of your bucket list, and why?

Santorini, the volcanic Greek island in the Aegean Sea, because of its dramatic landscapes and impeccable culinary culture

How many languages do you speak?

One and a half (I can just about manage in Germany)

Which five items do you always pack when travelling?

Sunglasses, adventure rucksack, lip balm, hip flask and my own bag

What's your top travel tip?

If you really love a destination, go back there – but try a new place in between
