About Domaine de Thenac
A historic chateau located in the very heart of the Perigord Pourpre wine region, Domaine de Thenac offers a deeply impressive standard of accommodation for up to 12 guests. Set in delectable surroundings, including its own woodlands and a renowned racehorse stud, this magnificent property effortlessly balances tradition with chic modernity.
Seven guest bedrooms comprising five king-size en suites, plus a further double and a twin suitable for children, are spread across spacious living quarters. Sumptuous views across to the paddocks are afforded through windows that let in large volumes of natural light. On the ground floor there’s a formal drawing room and a lounge that opens onto a terrace. A good-sized kitchen with modern appliances leads down to the summer kitchen and out to the heated swimming pool.
In the grounds, children will love playing on the beach volleyball court or exploring the enchanting woodlands. The pool area is ideal for al fresco meals during the warmer months, and of course there’s plenty of space around the property for those wanting a little seclusion for a few hours.
The area surrounding Domaine de Thenac is steeped in history. The original settlement dates to Roman times, and several battle sites from the Hundred Years’ War are close by. Of course this region, close to Bergerac and the Dordogne River, is also renowned for its wine, and both Monbazillac and St. Emilion are just a short drive away for aficionados of the vine.
