About Maison du Vin
The charming Maison du Vin is a wine lover’s paradise. It is set in grounds overlooking the UNESCO World Heritage Site of St Emilion’s medieval vineyards. The lush lawns have outside dining facilities and a delightfully refreshing plunge pool. A leisurely walk from the villa takes you to world-class chateaux, restaurants and art galleries. And if you weren’t certain before, the village’s wine bars will soon reveal how Maison du Vin got its name.
This family villa in Bordeaux creaks with antiques and artworks. The stone villa’s slick combination of old and new is present throughout, from its entrance salon to its gardens. Four individually decorated bedrooms are air-conditioned and furnished with an en suite bathroom, tiled in tumbled marble. A professional kitchen, finished in black polished granite, is available for your personal use. The centrepiece in the adjacent dining room is a beautiful 19th-century mahogany dining table – the ideal place for a large gathering or family celebration.
For those who prefer more informal surroundings, the family room beckons. This stylish and comfortable haven contains twin Roche Bobois leather sofas, gathered around a contemporary two-sided fireplace. Nearby, a modern office is equipped with WiFi Internet access and an all in one printer, copier and fax machine.
But after a glass or two of the finest Bordeaux vintage we very much doubt too much work will get done.
