About Villa Novina
Straight off the pages of Architectural Digest, this six-bedroom villa in Val d’Orcia was designed by Florencia Costa, an expert in medieval Sienese architecture. From the dry stone walls that seem to glow during Tuscany’s golden hour to the cloistered terrace and the travertine-lined pool that echoes Bagno Vignoni’s hot springs nearby, a 2022 rebuild cleverly makes it look more like a restoration.
Interiors are pared-back, fresh and uncluttered, and you’ll find only the essentials: a Gio Ponti chair here, a crisp linen there. There's no art on the walls, and that’s intentional: the 360° views of the rolling wheatfields and vineyards are feature enough. They’re framed in the windows in every single one of the six smart, spacious bedrooms, which lead to wet rooms, freestanding bathtubs and walk-in closets, but the most panoramic perspective is from the 11.8m pool.
Sun-loungers by contemporary studio Molteni&C keep you cool as you warm up in the summer sun, while a functional fireplace in the living room, a heated Jacuzzi outside and underfloor heating make this the kind of place you’ll return to season after season. As the sole property on the hilltop, accessible by a 300m driveway, there's a sense of total privacy. The pretty medieval towns of San Quirico d'Orcia and Pienza are a short drive away for a taste of true Tuscany.
