About Podere San Severo
Podere San Severo is an elegant 19th-century farmhouse surrounded by lush green Umbrian hills. This land was once home to the Etruscans. Today, this graceful villa has been refurbished using authentic period materials. These include handmade terracotta flooring, wooden beams and reclaimed tiles. Thankfully this quest for authenticity hasn't extended to some stylish flourishes. A 7x14m infinity swimming pool features in the expansive grounds.
With a typical black lava stone exterior, and antique furniture and carpets inside, there’s plenty of cosy, old world charm here. Five double bedrooms are all graced with spacious en suites, and the two living rooms centre on large original fireplaces.
Podere San Severo is surrounded by seven hectares of land, two of which form the fenced garden of the property. Manicured grass is planted with flower beds and ancient trees offer delightful shade. Within this space you'll discover the impressive infinity pool and a large terrace equipped with a dining table and chairs for al fresco entertaining. Hanging hammocks loll nonchalantly, luring you into an afternoon siesta or romantic night under the stars.
This grand villa in the Umbrian countryside is actually just a half-hour drive from one of Italy's most stunning cities, Orvieto. Here Etruscan roots can be further explored in the network of underground paths, caves and wells that are still visible today. Of course, the area is also famous for its wine, and its excellent whites were particularly sought after by papal Rome. And if it was good enough for them!
