About Chateau St Martin
Set within three hectares of picturesque parkland, and not far from Montpelier, the Chateau St Martin makes for a wonderfully relaxing retreat. Classical, elegant decor, high-end amenities and comfortable furnishings make it the ideal property for touring holidays in the Languedoc-Roussillon region.
An impressive entrance hall leads to a cosy lounge with a magnificent vaulted ceiling and original stone fireplace. Also on the ground floor, there’s a contemporary kitchen which opens onto an interior court, which is a pleasant spot for summer entertaining. A spacious dining room next door has a charmingly rustic feel and seats up to 14 guests. The chateau’s chapel and tower can also be reached from this level.
Upstairs there are three superb master suites, one of which gives access to a delightful covered terrace. In the tower there are a further six bedrooms and two bathrooms, along with a small kitchen area. Slightly less formal than the sleeping arrangements in the main building, it makes a good option for older children, teenagers or staff.
The chateau’s extensive grounds, featuring vineyards and lush gardens, were designed in the 19th-century and are rich in birdlife. There is a large swimming pool and a private tennis court, which should satisfy both the sun-seekers and the more active holidaymakers among your group.
In the surrounding area, there is a wealth of activities available, from hiking and biking to wine tasting or city sightseeing. The Chateau St Martin is your grand gateway to the high life of Languedoc-Roussillon.
