Take a delightful sightseeing tour to Les Baux-de-Provence and Saint-Rémy-de-Provence. The spectacular medieval village of Les Baux-de-Provence, situated in the heart of Les Alpilles, is dominated by the ruins of a 13th-century fortress, hidden in the craggy hilltops. The village itself consists of two parts: the lower levels, and the upper ‘deserted’ part, carved from the living rock. Visit the Quarries of Light, a disused limestone quarry that hosts an extraordinary multimedia sound and light show. Images are projected onto the rock walls, bringing the works of famous artists to life. After sampling some of the local olive oil, continue to the quintessentially Provençal town of St-Rémy-de-Provence, birthplace of Nostradamus. Nearby is the archaeological site of Glanum, a unique Gallo-Roman site which features fascinating civic and religious edifices.
