Perched upon a hilltop, in the pretty village of Bonnieux in Luberon, Bastide Bonnieux is the quintessential Provençal retreat.
A careful balance of modern luxury and traditional elegance threads through the property, from the open plan kitchen and spacious living quarters decorated with antiques and objets d’art, to the exquisite gardens. In 2022 the entire gardens have been re-designed by renowned landscape gardener Tom Stuart-Smith.
There are two bedrooms on the ground floor, a superb master bedroom on the first floor and three more in another section accessed by a separate staircase. You may be looking out over rolling hills, vineyards and patchwork orchards, or catching a fiery sunset, but you can be assured that the vistas from Bastide Bonnieux are never less than sensational.
The garden has recently undergone a transformation, under the keen eye of esteemed garden designer Tom Stuart-Smith. The terraces surrounding the property have been completely restored and replanted, with the final flourishes coming to fruition in 2024. There is also a heated and gated private pool with a summer kitchen and barbeque facilities on the upper terrace outside the kitchen, perfect for al fresco dining on warm summer days.
It’s just a short stroll into Bonnieux itself, where you’ll find a Michelin-starred restaurant, local cafes and artisan shops. You can fill a basket with fresh produce at the local market, or a local chef can prepare delicious French meals for you back at the villa.
