About Chateau La Tour
It is difficult to do justice to Chateau La Tour in France’s beautiful Dordogne region. Combining the traditional with contemporary to the level showcased here requires careful attention, considered planning and expert insight. While the domain shouts heritage and history, the interior is packed with modern art and it is this juxtaposition that takes each visitor’s breath away.
The whole property sleeps 20 people across three areas – Le Fournial, the main house and La Borie, an annex a few hundred metres from the main building. More traditional guests will love staying in Le Fournial whereas anyone with a love or interest in modern art will be very content in the main house and staying in one of the themed bedrooms.
The grounds of the chateau are extensive and encompass the private pool, a vegetable garden and stunning views in each direction. A stay here is very much focused on the local environment and ecology – all guests are encouraged in a responsible food shopping routine and eco-friendly attitude. The organic vegetable garden supplies many of the ingredients for meals prepared by the chef if you wish to enjoy the service of a local chef and you will have a chance to experience ‘permaculture’, which the owners are cultivating as a means of creating a sustainable way of living at this beautiful castle retreat.
